We are sad to inform you
that we lost Baby Doll due to complications after the surgery. She had become a member of the family. All of us are still feeling her loss.  |
A six year old chihuahua came to us with a massive growth on her
back. She had been a brood mother or puppy production machine. We suspect she was bred at every heat. We thought the growth was a tumor, but it was discovered to be a mass of scar tissue from being repeatedly
beaten. Further examination revealed that her front teeth had been knocked out, there was irrepairable damage to the sinus cavity and roof of her mouth, and extensive scarring as well.
A couple from Sarasota, Bill and Gloria, sponsored Baby Doll and covered the cost to have the mass removed. The operation was performed by Dr. Ross Hendry of Wauchula, Florida who offered the surgery at his cost. Even with this discount, the surgery still cost $300. Bill and Gloria never batted an eye, and paid for the entire thing.
On behalf of Baby Doll, we want to extend our gratitude to Bill and Gloria, and to Dr. Hendry for making this possible. You are such generous people! We will be sure to include you in our prayers. Know that you have given this beautiful little dog a second chance at a normal life, free of abuse and neglect.
